8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE NXT Halloween Havoc 2022

1. Casket = Dodgy Stip

Unfortunately, that same creative team looked at the matches on tap for Havoc and decided that Grayson Waller vs. Apollo Crews needed to become a Casket match. Why?! WWE's worked 'Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal' gimmick churned out perhaps the least-fitting stipulation imaginable for this one.

The feud has revolved around Crews being reborn on NXT, Grayson being a d*ck about it, Waller injuring Apollo's eye and the valiant babyface hero seeking revenge. Instead of going after that thread, WWE shoe-horned in an old Undertaker classic for the sake of it and gave both guys zero chance to succeed.

Also, what was up with those druids saving Crews when he crashed through the first (bogus) coffin? That might've worked if these guys had any supernatural character traits at all, but they don't so it missed. The poor pair couldn't play this for laughs like the women in the haunted house skit did either.

Even the announcers didn't really know what to say about it.
