8 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (15 April - Results & Review)

3. The Bad Joke Continues

R-Truth Miz
WWE

If you happen to be one of the fans who finds R-Truth’s antics hilarious, you’re going to disagree fiercely with this take, and that’s just fine.

But Truth’s ongoing shtick about being utterly confused and unable to function like a human being just doesn’t work in the main WWE universe. It functioned better when confined to the 24/7 division or when it was original – when Little Jimmy was a novel concept 13 years ago.

Truth’s new gag is that he believes that DIY is really D-Generation X. So naturally, he got confused by references to Triple H (who was in the ring to present the new World Tag Team Championship), and instead called him Tomasso Ciampa – you see, because Ciampa is Hunter in Truth’s addled fantasy world. Get it? Hilarious.

Triple H looked like he couldn’t wait to get out of the ring, like he was drowning in mid-card comedy hell as the joke that was never funny just won’t die, and now has consumed another soul.
