8 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dark (Aug 18)

7. Joey Janela/Sonny Kiss vs. Frank Stone/Shawn Dean

Hey, it turns out Frank Stone and Shawn Dean are a good tag team. The duo showed impressive chemistry and cohesion against Sonny Kiss and Joey Janela, justifying their control periods with great isolation work, quick tags, and classic psychology, helping Janela's face-in-peril build to the Kiss hot tag, after which the full-timers were mostly in the driving seat.

Stone and Dean's control period was longer than you'd expect on Dark, though their work was strong. Stone looked particularly impressive throughout and has likely earned himself another shot. He didn't take the pin, either, as his partner ate Janela's elbow drop followed by Kiss' split-legged splash, sealing the deal.

The right winners, hot action, and a fun enhancement tandem? That's an Up.
