8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Dec 1)
5. She's Still Got It
Jazz is 48-years-old. Nearing her fifties, it made sense why she spent the majority of her return match on the ring apron. However, the moments she was in the ring, you'd never have been able to guess the age of 'The Female Fighting Phenom'.
Teaming with Jordynne Grace, the former NWA World Women's Champion advanced to the semifinals of the Knockouts Tag Team Championships Tournament as the duo defeated Killer Kelly and Renee Michelle in a solid encounter. As mentioned, 'Thicc Mama Pump' did much of the heavy lifting here, including spiking Kelly with a nasty Michinoku Driver. Kelly and Michelle, worked excessively well together, particularly in the former's case. The Portuguese striker was vicious in her flurries of offence, packing quite the hesitation dropkick.
It would be Jazz who picked up the three count after performing her Jazz Stinger facebuster on Michelle, meaning she and Grace will advance to face Havok and Nevaeh in second round action. For now, though, we need to relish in Jazz having not lost a single step in the ring. We shouldn't be too surprised, given she spent three years with the aforementioned NWA title, but it's important to note regardless given her age.
It's a shame, really, that she never gets the recognition she deserves for being such a pioneer in women's wrestling. This match alone proved she's a bonafide Hall of Famer.
