8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Jan 7)

Downs...

5. Save It

We'll get to the match more in-depth later on, but Michael Elgin vs. Eddie Edwards happening on television just didn't make any sort of sense. Sure, it was a sensational back and forth match, which is always a great thing to see when it comes to wrestling. However, what was the point in having the match here when we're only a few days away from seeing it on pay-per-view.

The weird thing is though, they're still set to face off at Hard to Kill, with Eddie's Call Your Shot trophy now officially on the line. Surely if they're squaring off on free TV mere days before their scheduled pay-per-view outing, then the original match would be scrapped? It'll no doubt be another banger of a bout, but that fact is rendered pointless if 'Big Mike' simply wins again.

This, without a shadow of a doubt, is an extreme nitpick of a Down, seeing as the match itself was outstanding. Still though, the two surely could've waited until Sunday to sort their issues out.
