8 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling Slammiversary 2020
4. Free Agent... Still
Just before the X Division Championship match, Heath Slater (apparently now known simply as Heath) cropped up in an Impact ring for the first time, clearly eager to make a name for himself in what appears to be his new home. A quick dispatch of Rohit Raju, who's still unable to be used correctly, saw 'The One Man Band' standing tall, only to later be told by executive vice president Scott D'Amore that he wasn't actually signed to the company while meeting up with Rhino backstage.
This is literally a rehash of Heath and 'The War Machine's' SmackDown storyline from 2016. Surely Impact are better than this?
Granted, we'll need to wait to see how this one plays out as it may not necessarily be heading in the way it currently seems, but at the current point, it doesn't appear to be anything we haven't seen before. A real shame, seeing as Heath could really make something for himself in Impact Wrestling.
