8 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 21)

4. Enzo Amore Bites The Dust

There was only one acceptable outcome for Enzo Amore's early-show nudity: a complete and utter shellacking between the ropes, and that's exactly what happened when he met Rusev in the ring.

The setup was weak, but the execution was not. Rusev absolutely brutalised Enzo in the ring, and while he almost fell to a desperation roll-up, he was able to secure the Accolade in under a minute. Enzo inevitably tapped, and Rusev picked-up a much needed victory.

The match wasn't just vindication for the terrible backstage segment, but vital rehabilitation for Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute has become one of WWE's top performers, but he's spent the past few months being beaten from pillar to post by Roman Reigns, then sacrificed at the altar of Goldberg. He's in dire need of some positive momentum, and he got it last night.

It remains to be seen whether or not this results in a longer feud, but it ensured Rusev had a positive night for the first time in many moons. Enzo's not much of a wrestler, but he's one of the most popular guys in the company. This would've meant very little had Rusev annihilated a Curtis Axel or Bo Dallas, but people love Enzo, and he made for a perfect victim.
