8 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 21)

3. Nia Jax Joins The Hunt

The Women's Revolution has been one of WWE's biggest highlights this year, and the Four Horsewomen are its obvious cornerstones. Becky Lynch, Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Bayley are WWE's top female wrestlers, and while Lynch anchors SmackDown, the other three have been the focal point of Raw's division.

Sasha and Charlotte's feud has been great, and Bayley's involvement is welcome, but there has been little going-on in the division outside the top three. Furthermore, it feels like the trio have a stranglehold on title opportunities at times, and there's little to no movement towards contention for any of the division's other participants. Repetition had become a genuine concern, but WWE threw a new player into the mix last night.

Nia Jax came out to interrupt an in-ring confrontation between Sasha and Charlotte and immediately staked her claim for a title shot. Bayley made the save, a faces vs. heels tag match followed, and Sasha forced Charlotte to tap ahead of a title shot next week.

Jax is very early in her development curve, and there are moments when she still looks out of her depth, but the Women's Title scene was in real need of a fresh face. Besides, Alicia Fox is the only other available candidate, and no. Just no. Jax isn't the finished product, but she'll be working with some of the best wrestlers in the company, and this will only benefit her.
