8 Ups & 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 21)

1. Universally Misused

Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins closed last night's Raw with an all-out brawl. We'll get to that later, but as is par for the course with WWE's Universal Title scene, the match concluded with another sour finish, and one that made no sense whatsoever within the context of the match.

Mick Foley placed Rollins and Owens in a No DQ match, with Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns banned from ringside. The idea was that the duo would finally be able to hash-out their differences in a fair environment. Their previous matches had all ended in shenanigans, with the most recent example coming through Jericho's interference in Hell In A Cell, but at least they'd get a fair outcome last night.

Predictably, the outcome came as a result of everything the stipulation was supposed to prevent. A super-mysterious masked man attacked Rollins from the crowd. It was Jericho, obviously, and while banned from ringside, Corey Graves offered-up the paper thin reasoning that Y2J wasn't at ringside, but in the WWE Universe.

The referee did nothing to punish Jericho, and Owens seized the opportunity. An apron powerbomb finished the match and sent Kevin Owens with another unconvincing title defence. Heels are always going to cheat to win, of course, but this outcome spat in the face of logic and reason.
