8. Goldberg's Here To Stay

Goldberg's return has been note perfect: WWE have booked the former WCW Champion's run to perfection, and it has gone over incredibly well with the crowd. Bill's reactions are huge, his promos are impassioned and from the heart, and he's incredibly believable in his "reborn superhero" role. Last night continued this theme, and shed light on his future direction.

Goldberg opened the show with a typically passionate in-ring promo. He thanked the fans for giving him the chance to become "Goldberg" again and his family for supporting him, then revealed that Stephanie McMahon had given him the opportunity to compete in the Royal Rumble one last time. "You bet your ass I have one last title run left in me," he said, and the crowd went nuts.

Barring a brief "you screwed Bret" chant, the segment couldn't have gone any smoother. For better or worse, Goldberg is the most believable babyface in WWE at the moment, and his performances have been close to flawless since returning. Whatever the future brings, he'll be starting 2017 on a strong note.

A Brock Lesnar appearance would have been nice, but on its own merits, this segment ticked all the boxes.
