3. Jey Turns Down The Judgment Day

It wouldn’t have made much sense to have Jey Uso turn on Roman Reigns and his family just to join another heel stable, but WWE certainly cast as much doubt as possible in the lead-up to Monday night’s climax.

Since arriving on Raw, Jey has faced a lot of criticism, harsh words and dirty looks from wrestlers he wronged as part of the Bloodline, isolating the former tag champion. Then he had Judgment Day making overtures toward him about joining their ranks, because there’s safety in numbers. And credit to WWE, if Jey accepted the offer, it would have been a logical move on his part given everything he had faced to date on Raw.

But Uso rejected the purple warriors with a trio of superkicks Monday night, giving Damian Priest his answer with a sneaker to the face. That didn’t stop him from eating a Claymore to lose the main event against Drew McIntyre and then suffer a three-on-one beatdown, but he at least made his decision clear.

While Drew didn’t see fit to save a man who once battered him with a chair, Cody Rhodes proved to be Jey’s only friend in the building, making the save. That also was a nice little piece of the story, with Rhodes going out of his way to bring Uso to Raw, then sticking up for him.

The question is, will Jey return that favour when it counts most?
