2. Drew’s Slow Burn

Drew McIntyre has been long overdue for a character shift of some sort, whether that’s a heel turn or an edge he hasn’t had for some time.

Seeing him lose his cool multiple times, grow frustrated with those around him, and seethe at a former rival being welcomed to Raw with open arms has been an enjoyable arc, as you can feel the Scottish Warrior becoming increasingly angry at his situation. It seems like he’s getting closer to blowing his stack on someone, and not just with an errant chair toss like he did to Xavier Woods several weeks ago.

Monday, McIntyre defeated Jey Uso after Jey had super-kicked the entire Judgment Day off the apron. But when Uso was facing a 3-on-1 beatdown, the heroic Scot couldn’t bring himself to save a man who cost him title matches and attacked him as part of the Bloodline. He certainly seemed torn, but ultimately McIntyre decided to walk away rather than help.

Inaction will eventually give way to action, and that’s when things will really shift for McIntyre. For now though, he’s certainly on a path away from the Drew fans have known for the past several years.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
