8 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE Raw (18 Sept - Results & Review)

3. A Deranged Promo

Seth Rollins
WWE

There’s more to say about the overall World Heavyweight Championship feud in a bit, but Seth Rollins’ backstage promo later in the show was comically bad.

It was bad enough that Seth was wearing ridiculous sunglasses as he was trying to portray how seriously hurt he was, limping along and holding onto surfaces as he gingerly walked through the halls. But Rollins’ “acting” as he said he was losing his mind and that Shinsuke Nakamura was pushing him to a place he didn’t want to go was abysmal stuff.

Sure, the goal here was to show that the champ had lost control of himself and now was especially vulnerable, both physically and mentally. But Seth has always been an emotional, goofy, fiery individual. He’s not some cool, collected and calculating machine.

Had this been Gunther getting pissed and venting about losing control, it would be believable because he’s almost always in control of his emotions. But Rollins wears his feelings on his sleeve, so this was just bad acting, not character development.
