4. Another Opportunity For Nattie

Becky Lynch seemed poised to give young, hungry superstars an opportunity at her newly won NXT Women’s Championship Monday night… and then Natalya came out and accepted the challenge.

Absolutely nothing personal against Natalya, but the minute her music hit, it was Eyeroll City. Becky talked about NXT representing the future, hope and passion… so a 15-year WWE veteran tromped out to take the first defense.

While that in itself can be a storyline, Nattie hasn’t exactly been someone fans have gravitated toward, either as a face or a heel. In fact, it’s difficult to tell week to week whether she’s supposed to be cheered or booed, so fans typically do neither.

Natalya complained about how hard she’s worked and that she deserves a chance, which was her third title match in the past four months.

And then she lost clean and sat distraught in the corner. Surely, this will lead to some deep and meaningful character introspection that will be the evolution Nattie has long needed to freshen up her image.

You always hope to be wrong about this, but 15 years of history tells you otherwise.
