UPS…

8. Sure, Why Not?

With Chad Gable losing Monday night, there was an open spot for Gunther’s next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship.

And Tommaso Ciampa has entered the chat.

Ciampa toppled Giovanni Vinci Monday night, tapping him out to make a statement to the Ring General that he should be next up for a title match. While Tommaso hasn’t exactly boasted a strong presence on WWE programming, he’s at least been very clear that he is making a statement to force an opportunity, hence why he stepped up to back up Alpha Academy last week.

Interjecting himself into Imperium’s orbit was a clearly calculated move on Ciampa’s part, and Monday was the next phase of that strategy. It seems that he will continue to press the issue until Gunter grants him a title match, which could be a really fun, hard-hitting contest.

Even if it’s just a one-month diversion for everyone, it certainly beats being Miz’s understudy or just sitting in catering.
