8 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Nov 5)

3. Solving The Tag Title Problem

One of the most interesting aspects of Dean Ambrose's turn was that it left the Raw Tag Team Championships in a weird position, as he and Seth Rollins had just captured the gold prior to their implosion. Fortunately, WWE found a way to solve that problem last night, and they did so in satisfying fashion.

A second-hour Rollins promo concluded with Baron Corbin booking 'The Kingslayer' against AOP. What unfolded was a fun, sub-10 minute handicap scrap, with Rollins putting up plenty of fight, but ultimately succumbing to Akam and Rezar. Although this gets a supplemental 'Down' for the burly duo needing a referee distraction to put a single opponent away, the action delivered, the outcome was correct, and Raw finally has an actual tag division again.

Strapping AOP is a good first step towards reviving a scene that has been greatly marginalised throughout 2018, though there's still a lot of work to be done. Finding the right opponents is key. The Revival, Lucha House Party, and Bobby Roode/Chad Gable are great in theory, so let's hoping the booking improves, the scene finds its legs, and AOP enjoy a long, prosperous run.
