8 Ups And 1 Down From WWE NXT (Oct 7)

1. Ridgey Business

I'm not quite sure what the implication was for Ridge Holland not knowing how to park a car this week. Was he implying that someone has bought him a Mercedez for attacking Adam Cole, or was he saying that he's just really feeling himself after it all so decided a treat was in order?

Anyway, our bruiser from the U̶n̶s̶p̶o̶i̶l̶e̶d̶ ̶C̶o̶u̶n̶t̶r̶y̶s̶i̶d̶e̶ Mean Streets of Yorkshire put on a ripper against Danny Burch, before Oney Lorcan hit the ring to try and prevent a post-match beatdown. 400 referees got involved, a big brawl broke out, and we're no doubt getting an actual match between the two next week. Or rather, we were supposed to.

All in all, it was fine enough, but this is just yet another example of NXT not knowing how to start or further a feud without just having a mass brawl. If the point of this was to do Lorcan vs Holland (yes please, I might add), there are a million ways to get there. Hell, the guy's left his car in the middle of the road, why not block Oney in when he really, really needs to get home and feed the cat?

For clarity, there is nothing wrong with using big messy scraps to further pro-wrestling angles, but there is something wrong with almost exclusively using big messy scraps to further pro-wrestling angles. Not least because they can lead to injuries. Let's just hope he's ok.
