8 Ups And 11 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 33

7. A Garbagy Brawl

WrestleMania Shane McMahon Aj Styles

While you have to give down marks for 47-year-old executive Shane McMahon hanging with one of the best wrestlers in the world, his opening bout with AJ Styles was an entertaining mess.

Styles held the match together, wrestling himself at a couple points to make Shane look even better, but McMahon did his usual admirable job serving as an insane crash test dummy. C’mon, a shooting star press? Are you kidding? Still, the match had the kind of back-and-forth that drew the fans in and got a huge reaction, especially with Styles winning.

In the end, negative points for Shane as a serious competitor, but kudos for putting together an entertaining enough bout, with the right man winning. The match did its job in getting fans into the moment.
