Let’s make sure this is clear: EC3 did nothing wrong in his re-debut in NXT at TakeOver. He performed well, and looks like a major star poised to do big things this time around.

However, it really stinks that EC3’s big return match in NXT was in a six-man ladder match that he didn’t win. And while that shouldn’t be the deciding factor in whether it was a successful return, EC3 didn’t really do anything to stand out during the match, unlike the debuting Ricochet, who had numerous moments that sent fans into a frenzy. Others like Velveteen Dream and Killian Dain also had a couple standout moments.

Simply put, EC3’s return match should have meant a little more or at least had more focus on him or his skills. Instead, he was just part of the mix. It shouldn’t hurt him, but neither did it help him.
