8 Ups And 3 Downs From WWE NXT TakeOver: London

2. NXT€™s Bridesmaids

Until Monday night, announcer JBL was running with the idea that Roman Reigns was WWE€™s biggest bridesmaid. Well, after Wednesday night€™s TakeOver, it€™s probably safe to call Enzo Amore and Colin Cassidy NXT€™s bridesmaids, as the duo lost their NXT Tag Team Championship match. Originally, conventional wisdom said that the team would win the tag titles at TakeOver: Brooklyn since that home turf for them, but the honors went to the Vaudevillains instead. Presented with another opportunity at the titles in London, Enzo & Cass fell short, leaving empty-handed. It looked like they were being groomed for a run, especially after playing up how long they€™ve teamed and revealing a more serious, business-like side in the ring. One has to wonder what plans (if any) WWE has for the longest-tenured NXT tag team. Does this mean their title reign is just delayed, with the loss serving to heighten the drama? Are they bound for the main roster soon, and thus officials didn€™t want to put the straps on them? Or does WWE feel that they€™ve hit their ceiling? The first two options are far more likely, and we€™ll hopefully get an answer soon. It€™s just a shame in some ways.
