8 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 20)

6. A McMahon Drop-In

Bet you never thought an appearance from Stephanie McMahon would get an “up,” did you?

But McMahon showed up at exactly the right time Monday night, dropping in via video to issue an edict regarding the Raw Women’s Championship. The title match at Extreme Rules ended in a rather stupid manner, with the referee being blinded by Asuka’s green mist, so Bayley blasted her with a title, stole the ref’s shirt, and counted the pinfall. Sasha Banks then left with the women’s championship.

Stephanie declared that the title would be up for grabs next week, only to add that the title could change hands via pinfall, submission, DQ or count-out. That could help nullify Bayley’s involvement in the match and put Sasha and Asuka on equal footing.

While McMahons tend to swoop in to save the day and can dominate WWE programming, this quick spot to clear things up was needed.
