8 Ups And 4 Downs From WWE NXT Takeover: Unstoppable

4. A WrestleMania Feel

When NXT began doing the Takeover series of special events, it simply was a two-hour version of NXT, with several big feuds culminating in blowoff matches. Beyond that, it didn€™t really present itself as a big, special affair. All of that changed Wednesday at Unstoppable. It looked as though WWE was trying to make Takeover look like a major event and separate it from the regular show. In some ways, considering how over the top some of the entrances were, it felt like they were going for a signature PPV feel, kind of like how WWE does that with WrestleMania. First, the entrance was revamped, with the screen, lighting and ramp being redone. Then, you had an NXT promo, with WWE stars and fans raving about the promotion, really trying to sell that NXT is a big deal. Both Tyler Breeze and Finn Balor in the opener had new entrances, with Breeze enlisting four female €œmodels€ to walk the runway with him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ObEUl1trkM And of course, there was a huge surprise ending that gave fans something to talk about afterward.
