8 Ups And 5 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 12)

3. Sanctimonious Sami

Remember when Sami Zayn was an underdog NXT Champion? It seems like it was a lifetime ago.

Today, Zayn is the “Critic of the Critics,” bashing the audience constantly and taking a beating every time he opens his mouth. Sami has faced a bunch of different men this year, but with little success. (He’s officially lost 90% of his televised matches this year, which is beyond dismal.) That should (in theory) render his rantings moot, as he’s getting beaten at every turn.

But instead he has continued his rants, and another led to a quick beating Monday, with Samoa Joe putting him down after overhearing him trash-talking.

On one hand, it’s good to see a heel get his comeuppance. On the other hand, this is ridiculous. Does anyone buy Sami as a threat to anyone at this point? Zayn is holier than though, but he could job to the ref at this point and no one would blink.
