8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (August 1)

UPS…

8. Pokemon D’oh!

(Apologies to Homer Simpson for that one.)

OK, some might hate the ongoing Pokemon Go joke with Golden Truth, but it’s quickly becoming an art-imitates-life sketch, as the smartphone game has mesmerized millions, some to the point where they walk into walls, step out into traffic and hurt themselves or others. (Wanna bet there’s at least one person out there who has gotten fired either for playing the game during work or didn’t show up because they were playing the game?)

So R-Truth has become so obsessed with Pokemon Go that he completely ignored Golden Truth’s tag match against the Shining Stars (and ignored their entrance rap), missing a tag from Goldust, leading to a pinfall loss for the team. It was silly and the match was awful, but it still works… for now.

But if WWE is going to do its usual game of beating a joke into the ground and then driving it six feet under, this is quickly going to become a negative. Figure out the point of this and get there before you kill the joke dead.
