After dissecting and trashing Monday’s opening segment, let’s play devil’s advocate here for a minute.

If we were to take what the McMahons and Triple H said at face value, they are pledging to: listen to the fans; give wrestlers more opportunities to succeed; introduce new superstars; have new, fresh matchups; and put out a better product.

We saw right away that the “new faces” part is a reality, which can be a really good thing, especially in the tag and women’s divisions, where the limited roster sizes lead to repeat matchups. We saw Tyler Breeze get an Intercontinental Championship match and actually land some offense. And that was in the first hour.

So maybe, just maybe, they’re actually serious. History has taught us that things will slide backward at some point and WWE will revert to what it knows, but let’s see how long they can modify the product they put out and whether it’s for the better.
