8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (July 15)

Downs...

6. More Of The Same

Viking Raiders Jobbers

Consider this a cautionary “down” here.

After inexplicably disappearing from WWE TV for weeks on end, the Viking Raiders returned several weeks ago and began squashing jobbers left and right. It was the right call, re-establishing the duo as merciless killers who have a unique blend of power, speed and agility.

But after numerous squashes, it’s starting to get repetitive. Monday’s squash was almost exactly the same that we saw last week… and a couple weeks before. You get the idea. (To be fair, they did defeat Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson and faced New Day in there.) Three of five Raws have been against no-name jobbers.

While this isn’t a bad thing (this writer often has advocated using jobbers to build up new wrestlers), it’s easy to see WWE keep this going for too long, and fan reaction could start to diminish if they tire of it.

Honestly, this “reset” felt like an opportunity to have AOP make their televised return to challenge the Raiders, which would have been a really cool, impactful moment. Regardless, this is really just here as a cautionary note, not a big negative.
