8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 13)

5. Jericho Pays Off Longstanding Joke

If you enjoyed Jeri-KO’s antics during last summer, fall and winter, then you probably remember their running gag involving a Raw backstage interviewer.

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens spent months badly botching Tom Phillips’ name, calling him everything but his actual name. And then, Phillips disappeared from Raw, sent to SmackDown to be yet another person at the commentary desk. But Monday, Jericho took a look at the latest interchangeable announcer, Mike Rome, and called him “Tom Phillips.”

When Rome protested that he wasn’t Tom, Jericho got indignant and did something he hadn’t in more than a month: He added a name to the List of Jericho. Yeah, it was a little silly, especially after Jericho had been beaten down by Owens and Samoa Joe, but if you’re a fan of Y2J, you’re likely to give it a pass – especially when it pays off a gag from several months ago.
