8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (March 13)
4. Brock’s Here… To Bounce
When Brock Lesnar returned to WWE the night after WrestleMania XXVIII in 2012, it was a huge deal. His very presence on any given Raw was must-see TV, as fans wondered what he would do and who would be in his crosshairs.
Fast-forward five years, and Lesnar’s appearances have become hit-or-miss. Last week was certainly a “hit,” as he destroyed WWE Universal Champion Goldberg with an F-5. But this week, Brock stalked out to the ring to open Raw, with Paul Heyman in tow. Heyman talked, and talked, and talked. And Brock smiled, and flexed, and bounced.
And then they left.
Not every appearance can be sheer devastation, but having Brock on Raw isn’t sending the ratings into the stratosphere. And while it’s great to pop a live crowd, if he’s just standing there for 10 minutes and then walks off, what’s the point? Not every appearance will be like last week, but these do-nothing appearances seem to be more frequent lately.
