5. ‘Real’ Injuries Are Worse

Remember the days when a wrestler would be knocked out of action and they would simply be written off as being injured? Nowadays, we get an injury report that reads like a football post-game rundown.

Monday, we learned that Kalisto was out with hip and cervical trauma, Roman Reigns has a separated shoulder, damaged ribs and internal injuries, and Braun Strowman has a torn rotator cuff. But don’t worry, all should be back in action soon enough.

It’s not that the added sense of realism isn’t appreciated. But in an effort to do this, WWE simply has provided too much information that sends some fans to WebMD and causes others to roll their eyes. It also demeans the reports of real injuries (like Seth Rollins and Finn Balor) and the time it takes to properly recover from them, as the kayfabe injuries tend to heal a lot faster.
