8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (May 2nd)

Ups...

8. Telling The Truth

Throughout the series of vignettes featuring Primo and Epico as they rave about how wonderful Puerto Rico is, one thought has continually popped up, but it was left unsaid until an announcer had a fit of honesty Monday night.

The Colons have appeared in a series of taped vignettes espousing how wonderful Puerto Rico is, with its beautiful beaches, nightlife and nature. Monday, they bragged about the various delicacies available and how they didn€™t have to eat fast food or from a vending machine. Primo and Epico closed the segment with their traditional line, urging people to visit €œthe shining star of the Caribbean.€

No sooner did the video end then JBL blurted out, €œIsn€™t Puerto Rico bankrupt?€

The island territory, which has been in recession for a decade, is facing $70 billion in debt and was expected to default on $422 million in bonds on Monday. So yes, JBL was essentially correct, which kind of deflated the entire series of videos. That in itself was pretty funny, from a twisted perspective. No wonder the announcers quickly changed subjects.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
