8 Ups And 6 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Oct 8)

2. A Much-Needed Double-Turn

When Lio Rush was introduced as Bobby Lashley’s hype man, things felt a little… off. Rush is an obnoxious heel on 205 Live (not that the majority of Raw viewers also watch the cruiserweights, but still), so it didn’t line up.

So when Rush had the mic during Lashley’s match against Kevin Owens on Raw, it became clear what the ultimate objective was. Lashley, who has been mired in go-nowhere feuds and a babyface purgatory on Raw, broke out of it Monday night. Lio taunted KO and tried to lead the Chicago crowd in a “Lashley” chant, which went nowhere.

Rush distracted Owens when KO rallied, leading to a Lashley victory. Then, with KO down and hurt, Lashley returned to wrap the Prize Fighter’s leg around the post a few times, just to really sink it in.

Just like that, Lashley is a heel, and Owens (presumably) is a babyface, which also makes sense given how much fans want to cheer him. Smart.
