You’d be excused if you had low expectations for the tag match featuring two WWE Hall-of-Famers. After all, Trish Status hadn’t wrestled a match (not counting the women’s Royal Rumble) in more than eight years, while Lita had wrestled only a couple mixed tag matches since her 2006 retirement (discounting the Rumble and a 2012 “match” against Heath Slater).

However, Trish and Lita held their own in a tag match against Alicia Fox and Mickie James Sunday night. The PPV kicked off with the bout, which was a smart way to draw fans in – with two of the most well-known women in the last 25 years.

The women stayed mostly safe, though Trish hit a frankensteiner and Lita hit a couple ranas. We’ll even give Fox a pass on missing her cue to break up a pinfall near the end, as fans were into the entire match, and it delivered exactly what they wanted: Lita and Trish hitting their signature spots and winning.
