So if you had to place money on who was the first voice you heard on WWE Evolution, odds are you made some cash.

Because everyone had to know that Stephanie McMahon and her speech about the women’s evolution would be the overriding theme of the entire PPV. And so it was Stephanie’s speech that was played over a backdrop of highlights, which then segued to other women on the roster talking about what all of this means to them.

This isn’t some huge sin – McMahon is one of the highest-ranking officials in the company – but it definitely was an “of course she was front-and-center to start” moment. Anyone could have done a voiceover to give the moment some gravity rather than Stephanie reminding everyone that she is central to this too.
