If you pay attention on Raw, you know that the red brand already has a female ring announcer in JoJo. However, she was not the one doing introductions to open Evolution.

WWE brought back Lillian Garcia to do the honors of introducing wrestlers at WWE’s first all-female PPV. Garcia was a ring announcer throughout the Attitude Era, into the 2000s, and for the first half of this decade. While she has been given to mistakes, she was a consistent presence for the better part of 15 years.

It was much more meaningful to have Lillian announce the wrestlers than to have JoJo, who most fans wouldn’t even know if they hadn’t watched Raw when she was on the first season of Total Divas.
