3. Telegraphed

When Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre said they wanted a Raw Tag Team Championship match, you had to know where this was headed.

Acting GM Baron Corbin observed that they had promoted The Revival getting a tag title shot, but McIntyre wondered aloud what would happen if they weren’t able to make it to the ring. Moments later, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder were jumped by Drew and Dolph and taken out, allowing them to steal the tag title match, which they then went on to win.

Yes, that entire scenario was telegraphed from the moment Drew and Dolph brought up the tag titles, but that’s OK. Sometimes things don’t need to be a surprise or a swerve. Storytelling can be predictable and linear, and it can work well.

At least now we have tag champs who can win without their opponents slipping on a banana peel.
