8 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 3)

3. Balor An Afterthought

Someone had to be the sacrificial lamb Monday night, but once again, that job fell to Finn Balor.

WWE seriously can’t decide what to do with Balor, alternately pushing him and then jobbing him out like they did Monday night to Braun Strowman. As it was pointed out, Balor nearly defeated Roman Reigns a couple weeks ago, but then he simply hung around against Braun before being toppled. Conventional wisdom would say that means Roman doesn’t stand a chance, but we all know better.

Balor then disappeared when The Shield showed up and the ensuing beatdown hit, never to be seen or referenced again on Raw, which showed that he was just there to go back and forth with Braun a bit before losing and getting beat up post-match.

Maybe it’s better than fighting Baron Corbin again, but it would be nice if WWE could decide how it wants Balor to be booked. You wouldn’t see Randy Orton be treated like an afterthought like this.
