8 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (Sept 3)

2. ‘I Quit, I’m Back’

When Kevin Owens “quit” WWE last week, it felt like they were setting him up for something bigger. Owens would disappear for a little while and resurface when we least expected it, perhaps with a new manager or some other new development.

It’s safe to say that conventional wisdom would have held that KO would not be back the following week, so in that regard, his return Monday night was when we least expected it.

But that doesn’t make it stupid as hell.

During a pointless segment where Bobby Lashley was undergoing mandatory meditation with Jinder Mahal, Owens attacked Lashley and hit an apron powerbomb, taking him out. Later, he led the locker room attack on The Shield, one of 10 or so men who charged out from the back.

And just like that, KO is one of the masses again. So much for his quitting actually meaning something and leading somewhere.
