8 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2017
4. Like Riding A Bike
Three years is a long time to hold a grudge, especially in wrestling (unless you’re Tito Santana and Rick Martel). But Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose finally mended fences recently, and it paid off Sunday at SummerSlam.
Rollins and Ambrose teamed together to take out Sheamus & Cesaro, and in the process became the Raw Tag Team Champions. The four men had exactly the kind of match you’d expect: hard-hitting, action-packed and entertaining. Cesaro was his usual athletic freak self, but Sheamus had some big power moves himself.
In the end, Rollins’ athleticism (a springboard hurricanrana launching Cesaro into Sheamus) proved to be the difference. Rollins and Ambrose showed some good tandem offense, and by winning the tag titles, they hopefully will elevate the straps a little (though they’ve had a bigger profile with Sheamus & Cesaro this time around) being two former world champs holding the titles.
