8 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Battleground 2015

3. And From€ Where?

It couldn€™t be an accident that Lillian Garcia failed to announce Randy Orton€™s hometown when Battleground took place in his hometown, right? You don€™t just forget to announce that sort of thing, so it had to be deliberate. The only plausible reason for that would be to hide the real reason fans went crazy for Orton throughout the match. There were plenty of €œRKO€ chants throughout the bout, and Orton was on the €œYay€ side of the €œBoo/Yay€ exchanging of blows. While Orton is still really popular, the cheers were off the charts because WWE was in St. Louis, and no one €“ not Lillian, not the announcers €“ made mention of Orton€™s hometown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ge0Cls1lIMo You have to tip your cap to WWE for that one. Putting the match on first when fans are most fired up (rather than later in the card where they might be a little deflated) and then hiding the fact that the hero is also the hometown boy makes the crowd a little artificially hot for what often is a dull match between Orton and Sheamus. Still, it€™s a bit of trickery that deserves to be called out.
