Probably the biggest impact AJ Lee had on the Divas division came August 26, 2013, when the Divas champ dropped the biggest promo in recent womens wrestling history, possibly ever. AJ was just two months into her lengthy reign when she carved up the cast of Total Divas in a searing three-minute monologue, during which she called them a bunch of cheap, interchangeable, expendable useless women. Sadly, this promo had such a huge impact because it cast a spotlight on exactly what was wrong with the Divas division. Tragically, the promo occurred 20 months ago, and many of the complaints AJ lodged could still be applied today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afedl8HylCY Nonetheless, the fact that WWE let AJ go out there and say all of that about their new hit reality TV show was a big deal at the time, and it showed that it wasnt just the men who could deliver a lengthy, blistering promo that blurs lines and decimates opponents without resorting to cheap heat. AJ continued to push that button of the way Divas are viewed her tweaking of Stephanie McMahon via Twitter is a great example showing that it wasnt a one-time thing with her. AJs departure will undoubtedly recast a spotlight on that memorable pipe bombshell. Its a shame to see one of the strongest females on the roster bow out like this, but it will be interesting to see how the division reacts collectively to see if there is a lasting impact after her departure.
