8 Ways Chris Jericho Has Reinvented Himself During His Career

4. A Jealous Man

After losing the undisputed title to Triple H, Jericho moved on to other high profile feuds in 2002-03, and formed a memorable team with his fellow self absorbed Canadian, Christian.

Although he was mostly kept out of the title picture, Jericho kept his character fresh, adopting the role of a jealous egomaniac for feuds with the likes of Shawn Michaels and Goldberg.

Although his work with HBK would be eclipsed by their classic 2008 rivalry (more on that later), their feud in 2003 was brilliant, built on the back of Jericho's jealousy of Michaels. Their match at WrestleMania 19 arguably stole the show, with the tremendous post-match moment of a furious Y2J kicking HBK low after losing to his former idol.

Jericho plays the entitled delusional heel so well and it's clear that he's taken inspiration from this run to influence his current 'stupid idiot' persona.

Unsurprisingly, Jericho was so entertaining in this persona at the time that he eventually had to turn babyface in a feud with Christian involving Trish Stratus. Sound familiar?
