With his band Fozzy starting to gain momentum, in 2005 Jericho began to bring his extra -curricular activities into his wrestling career.

Although he had always played off his rockstar side-life during his Y2J run, in 2005 he really embraced that aspect of his life and turned it up to 11 with his WWE character.

After turning heel in the summer, Jericho began feuding with new WWE champ John Cena in what would be Y2J's last hurrah with the company, as he took a break from wrestling for two years.

During this short feud over the title, Jericho played more and more up to his 'Ayatollah Of Rock N' Rolla' gimmick, which led to a Battle of the Bands segment with Cena on an episode of Raw that year.

It's just a shame that his run in this gimmick was so short lived. After losing to Cena at Summerslam, Jericho lost his rematch the next night on Raw in a 'You're Fired' match and departed the company, literally kicking and screaming.
