1. Self-Righteous Honest Man

Undoubtedly the best persona Chris Jericho has ever given us.

After his return in the Codebreaker guise left a lot to be desired, Jericho was treading water as a babyface. Fortunately, that all changed when he transitioned into a phenomenal heel role for his all-time great feud with Shawn Michaels.

Playing off the gimmick of the self righteous heel, Jericho took things to a whole new level and completely shed the Y2J character he'd become famous for.

Based on Javier Bardem's character Anton Chigurh in No Country For Old Men and old school wrestling heel Nick Bockwinkel, Jericho's self-righteous honest man gimmick quickly became one of the greatest pro wrestling characters of all time.

Jericho got rid of his brash persona and instead began speaking in a quiet tone and giving articulate promos using long words designed to go over the audience's head. His colourful outfits were ditched too and he began wearing suits and proclaiming to be the "best in the world at what I do."

Through many twists and turns, the feud with HBK escalated to incredible levels; including blood, Jericho punching Michaels' wife Rebecca, and Jericho even winning the World Heavyweight Championship and defending it against HBK in a ladder match.

The success of this gimmick and his work with Michaels meant that a feud which was meant to end after just one match lasted for a whole seven months and it remains the best work of Jericho's career.
