SmackDown hasn’t exactly soared since April’s Superstar Shake-Up, and The New Day will prove to be a big boost to the roster. The trio are one of WWE’s most popular acts, and should bring some much needed credibility and attention to a tag division that has struggled greatly since last year’s draft.

Their feud with The Usos feels like the perfect story to build the tag scene around, and the two teams will meet for the belts on Sunday. While Breezango have shot to prominence lately, and The Hype Bros look set to return, WWE’s smartest move would be to book this match in a way that allows the Usos/New Day feud to remain the primary focus over the coming months, culminating in a big blow-off match at SummerSlam.

The bout’s finish should tell us exactly where the division is heading this summer. A clean Usos victory would needlessly kill the feud’s heat, but a screwy or inconclusive outcome will set the two teams up for a big rematch, as would a New Day victory. If the feud ends on Sunday, the tag scene will struggle to recover from its current malaise, but if it continues, SmackDown has the ideal rivalry to finally make the division feel relevant.
