8 Ways Money In The Bank 2017 Could Shape WWE's Summer

3. Sami Zayn Finally Becomes A Star

Nobody would gain more from becoming this year’s Mr. Money In The Bank than Sami Zayn. While his win/loss record has actually been pretty strong in 2017, he continues to be treated like a complete loser by fellow roster members, and his long-desired main event push looks as far away as ever. Him taking the briefcase is unlikely, but it’d be a tremendous way to finally promote him to the top of the card, breathe new life into the main event, and install Zayn as SD’s top babyface.

WWE are really struggling for genuine heroes at the moment. AJ Styles and Randy Orton are SmackDown’s top two "good guys", but AJ is likely to be tied up in the US Title division for a while, and interest-levels in Orton are near an all-time low. Thus, there’s a clear void for someone to fill at the top of the card, and Zayn could be the man to do it.

Establishing Sami as a main eventer should completely change the dynamic in the WWE Championship hunt. His emergence would be fresh, new, and exciting, regardless of how long he holds onto the briefcase for, and should give the fans something to cheer for over the next few months.
