8 Ways NXT System Might Be Setting Up New WWE Superstars To Fail

7. Vince Doesn't Visit The Show, Resents Its Success

Vince is getting up there in years and RAW and Smackdown don't take weeks off, so it's perhaps understandable that he cannot often make it down to Full Sail University to watch the workings of NXT in person. In the fact, the first, and only time, he's ever been present at a NXT show was recently, at the March 27 house show that the developmental brand put on during Wrestlemania weekend in San Jose. It was a huge success, not only in terms of fan reaction live and online, but also in terms of sales, a sell-out 4,700 strong crowd grossing over $200,000. However, when the reports were written up about Vince's experience behind the curtain at a NXT shindig, they all focused on the same thing: he was visibly angered by some of the crowd's chants. Specifically: "Better than RAW" and "Better than 'Mania" While the reports also went on to say that Vince enjoyed the show for the most part, going as far as to personally finance the show running over by an hour, this is disquieting on two fronts: If Vince is shocked and angered by these chants, this might be evidence that he doesn't watch NXT *at all*, considering that 'Better Than RAW' is staple chant for the show. Second, Vince is a proud man, and its unsettling to think that he might resent the WWE's developmental brand encroaching on his own shows' success. "NXT NXT NXT" chants have begun to populate RAW on a weekly basis, especially when Kalisto and Neville are performing. If this is angering the boss, that might spell trouble for the new blood.
