8 Ways NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn Will Overshadow WWE SummerSlam

3. No Filler

A four hour WrestleMania usually flies by because it has a good enough card to justify that extra hour. Does SummerSlam? Eh. There are already a fair few Raw/SmackDown level matches on the card, with more soon to be added if another Randy Orton vs. Sheamus bout is added to the event next week. Four hours might just end up dragging, and that's because other than two or three big marquee matches, they're cramming that four hours with a fair bit of filler (that's not to say it won't be good, but filler is filler!). NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn on the other hand runs at a leaner two hours. Based on past experience with these events, every match counts, and a look at how the card is so far shaping up seems to indicate that will be the case here as well. It's also worth noting that each and every Superstar given the opportunity to have a match on a stage as grand as this one will be making the most of it, as it's here that they can prove they have what it takes to be a huge star on the main roster. Vince McMahon was apparently blown away by what he saw at the live NXT event which took place before WrestleMania earlier this year, and it's worth noting that NXT and its Superstars have been fair more heavily promoted and featured on WWE programming ever since. I'm not trying to say that the WWE Superstars competing at SummerSlam won't give it their all, but there's a good reason that they've been rumoured to be upset with how the NXT talent are given a greater opportunity to showcase actual wrestling at these TakeOver events! Iff those have taught us anything, it's that these guys will once again outshine their main roster brethren, and they'll do so because you can guarantee that there won't be a match on the card which isn't there for a damn good reason...
