8 Ways Triple H’s WWE Is JUST LIKE Vince McMahon’s

6. Colossal Baffling Failures That Result In Rage-Quit Threats

Vince McMahon became synonymous with booking some of the worst wrestling moments ever in the years before he resigned in disgrace.

Babyface Roman Reigns winning the 2015 Royal Rumble match against a backdrop of perpetual, tormented groans, as if the crowd was being audibly tortured in hell. A referee throwing out a Hell In A Cell match when Seth Rollins threatened to use a smaller hammer than the mallet teased by the Fiend earlier in the match. Jinder Mahal: WWE Champion.

Vince’s twilight years booking was so catastrophically awful that it was almost helpful; these moments, and several others, were the impetus for many longtime fans to finally rid themselves of a hobby that no longer provided them with joy. They were not merely bad; they were life-changing. Incredibly, given that he isn’t a 76 year-old brain-wormed lunatic, Triple H has booked some of his own.

John Cena’s heel turn, with his “each and every one of you” speeches, might as well have been shadow-booked by Vince himself. The use of Travis Scott at WrestleMania 41 was a quintessentially ‘WTF’ moment that spiritually belonged in 2019. When Pat McAfee turned heel and aligned with Randy Orton ahead of WrestleMania 42, on the basis that we all needed to get back to the Attitude Era, the development might have made less sense than anything Vince did that same year. Orton debuted after the Attitude Era had ended, for starters, and what was that talk of 5’ 5” guys doing 45 minute Iron Man matches on SmackDown? Not only has that never happened ever, what did any of his inscrutable nonsense have to do with Cody Rhodes?

When Vince McMahon got desperate, he went nuts. Under pressure to sell more tickets by TKO, Triple H does this too.
