8 Ways WWE Have Screwed Up Baron Corbin

4. Cancelling Talking Smack

Few wrestlers will be hurt more from Talking Smack's cancellation than Baron Corbin. He was one of the show's biggest beneficiaries, as while he has always been a mundane talker before a live audience, TS's relaxed studio setting really helped him loosen up. This allowed him to develop his character to a level that would've been impossible on SmackDown alone, and as Baron's confidence grew, so did the quality of his interviews.

His first big moment came in October, when the real Baron Corbin - the grumpy villain we met on Breaking Ground - finally shone through. Cold, aloof, and almost entirely negative, he came off like the most unappreciative jerk in the company as he ran through his complete lack of passion for the sport. He soon became a semi-regular fixture on Talking Smack and always came off well whenever he appeared, but sadly, this platform has now been removed.

The studio environment was invaluable in helping Corbin project his character, but he may as well be anyone else on the roster now it's gone. Sure, he should probably be a more engaging talker at this stage in his career, but TS really helped him connect with previously uninterested fans.
