8 Wild & Unscripted WWE Moments That Made Matches Better

6. Referee Beats Up WCW Fan Who Jumped In The Ring

Sorry Dean Malenko and Psicosis, it's not that your match needed a moment like this to be entertaining, but there's no doubt that it instantly topped whatever scripted series of moves you were about to perform.

A short time into the match, a WCW fan decided he would jazz up the production a little by hopping the barricade and sliding into the ring. What was he going to do once he was in there?

We'll never know, because referee Mark Curtis promptly knees him right in his stupid head and then goes in for the kill, applying a nice guillotine choke until security was able to haul him out.

Unlike similar instances where a fan has managed to get into the ring, Bobby Heenan makes no attempt to ignore it whatsoever, instead calling attention to Mark Curtis' total demolition of the fan while Tony Schiavone tries desperately to re-focus on the actual match.

Heenan is having none of that, however, and makes sure everyone knows just how pathetic the fan's attempt at fame was:

"The smallest referee in the world just took him down! How tough is that guy? Ha ha! They're taking Mr. Tough Guy to the sneezer! HA HA HA! Maybe we should get him some cigarettes, he'll need 'em to bribe the screws!"

Sure, this moment probably derailed what would have been a perfectly decent match, but there was only the slimmest of chances it was going to be more entertaining than that.
